Weekend Update — July 24, 2026
ZeroSpace Weekend Update (July 24, 2026): first balance patch, resolution fixes, Medal.tv Bastion portrait, Inquisitress & Galavax duo, UI polish, and Endari/Grell/Xol tweaks.
What shipped in the Weekend Update
On July 24, 2026, Starlance Studios published Weekend Update (July 24) — the second major Steam patch of Early Access launch week. Alongside the earlier Day One Patch, this update targets resolution bugs, a large UI pass, Medal.tv integration, earnable portraits, and the first competitive balance changes across heroes, all four main factions, and mercenaries.
Starlance thanked players for reports (especially broken resolution settings) and asked commanders to keep filing bugs via the in-client icon, Steam forums, or Discord. A rare issue where hero hotkeys permanently stop working is under investigation — reinstall is the current workaround; detailed reports help reproduction.
New portraits and Medal.tv
- Inquisitress & Galavax — Earn this portrait duo by winning a game while in a party with a friend.
- Bastion — Complete a Medal.tv quest: share a clip to your Medal profile, receive a code, then redeem it in-game (profile → portrait → enter code).
- Medal.tv integration — Auto-clipping support so you can create and share highlights; Starlance also mentions shareable game keys tied to the Medal flow.
Clip hunters should also watch the Discord streamer-clip contest on the events hub ($100 to the submitter and $100 to the featured creator for top entries).
Stability, UX, and quality-of-life
Highlights beyond balance:
- Resolution settings apply properly and immediately; graphics changes mid-match apply more reliably.
- Max zoom level is now a settings option; subtitles default to enabled; queue timer shows how long you have been searching.
- Crashes related to Grass/Power Fields and miscellaneous hard exits addressed; abilities facing/cast-direction bugs tightened.
- Harvesters more selectable; large units less pushable by abilities; Dreadnought beam restart bug fixed.
- UI: build menus no longer close when units die; chat raised above dialogue; alliance selection clearer with close button; Versus/Campaign/Survival menus use consistent off-black styling; Xol/Random faction panels populate correctly.
- Queueing on an outdated client now shows an update popup.
Apply these with the settings tips on QoL controls and troubleshooting if resolution still sticks.
Balance snapshot (first competitive pass)
This is the first launch-week balance package — expect PvP and Galactic War lists to shift:
- Heroes — Melee hero health gain per level 39.2% → 36.7%.
- Xol — Anrubic Merge no longer grants permanent stat buffs; Defiant health/radius up; Roller health up but slower; scout drones slower with less vision.
- Grell — Infuse no longer grants ability CDR; Pheromon Invigoration retuned; several move-speed talents and units (Skrell, Lasher, Stinger, Infused Seedling) slowed; Catalyzed Infusion slightly reduced.
- Legion — Reanimate Hero costs more energy and cannot stack on already-debuffed heroes; Inquisitress Cleave / Kraegar warhead cast times up; Exalted and Steelsworn speed down.
- Protectorate — Air Strike cast delay 1.25s → 1.5s; Commando weapon cooldown up; Predator and scouts slower.
- Mercenaries — Broad scout/raider slowdowns; Cha'Kru and Loi'Kru Earth Form nerfs; Endari Devourer can no longer Devour Harvesters; She Who Stalks jump retuned (longer cast, longer range, Impaler form slower orb triggers); Marran Pulse Skimmer slower; Advanced Sensors talent swapped toward vision over speed.
- Matchmaking — Mutators blocked in matchmade games; assorted bugfixes (Krag'Vorn XP, Legion triple-hero exploit, mind-control edge cases).
Starlance noted another balance update was planned for the following week. On July 26 they shipped a separate Minor Update focused on matchmaking, selection, Grey Horizons difficulty scaling, and Galactic War reward UI — not a second balance pass.
