Galactic War Season Zero
ZeroSpace Galactic War Season Zero runs July 20–August 2, 2026. Learn the three alliances, influence scoring, 50-planet map, co-op missions, and how to win the first Galactic Emperor title.
What Season Zero is
Galactic War: Season Zero is ZeroSpace's debut seasonal event, running from July 20 through August 2, 2026—the same window as Steam Early Access launch. Unlike isolated skirmish matches, Season Zero is a persistent, community-driven war on a galactic map where players align with one of three cross-faction alliances and push toward the galactic center by winning co-op and single-player planetary scenarios.
Starlance Studios confirmed the launch map ships with roughly 50 planets at Early Access, each granting alliance-wide buffs when captured. Buffs scale stronger closer to the center; repeated wins on the same planet unlock mastery upgrades that can dramatically alter unit behavior for the duration of the current war only. Stronghold planets allow defenders to build turrets, raid bosses, and special structures such as periodic air-strike towers.
On August 2, 2026, the alliance with the most influence points wins; its creator-led commander is crowned the first Galactic Emperor. Every co-op match played during Season Zero advances your alliance's territorial expansion based on mission difficulty and completion level.
The three alliances
At war start you choose an alliance—similar to Horde versus Alliance in an MMO—not your main faction roster. Your in-match faction, mercenary, and hero loadout remain modular; alliance choice determines which galactic territory line you expand and which community leaderboard you contribute to.
- Eden Accord — Grell-aligned alliance identity; rewards coordinated expansion and biomass map control players.
- Obsidian Order — Legion-aligned; favors attrition, siege strongholds, and disciplined tower fights.
- Keeper Council — Protectorate-aligned; strong defensive anchors and structured macro teams.
Three RTS community creators lead competing alliances during Season Zero, rallying players through streams and Discord coordination. Read the full alliances page for faction pairings and pick a group that matches your play schedule—Season Zero rewards consistent daily co-op contributions over single burst sessions.
How to compete and earn influence
Select a planet on the edge of your alliance territory and click play. Scenarios take roughly 20 minutes and support solo or co-op (up to three players in Galactic War missions). Winning awards influence points; the alliance with the highest total captures the planet and applies its buff to all members in subsequent Galactic War RTS matches.
Plan loadouts in the loadout builder before queueing—Protectorate + Marran + Hel excels at choke strongholds, while Grell + Valkaru + Weaver applies early pressure on open sectors per current Galactic War tier data. Study the galactic map guide for lane connections including the Frozen Watch hotspot.
Starlance Studios added a dedicated Galactic War tutorial during the Steam Next Fest cycle to onboard players who previously jumped in without understanding the strategic layer—complete it alongside the beginner Galactic War guide if co-op metagame terms feel unfamiliar.
Launch context and wiki resources
ZeroSpace surpassed 250,000 Steam wishlists ahead of the July 20 launch following Steam Next Fest, signaling strong interest in the hybrid RTS+RPG model. Early Access ships 13 campaign missions, 10 co-op missions with procedural enemy compositions, skirmish versus AI at eight difficulty tiers, four main factions including the robotic Xol, six mercenary factions, and 10 heroes totaling 90+ unique units.
Developers plan roughly one year in Early Access, expanding toward full 1.0 with additional campaign acts (15 main story, 10 hero loyalty, and 15 side arc missions at full release), 4v4 skirmish maps, new mercenaries, and deeper cross-mode Galactic War integration per the release roadmap.
